DHS is revising their policy that allowed local law enforcement authorities to enforce the federal immigration laws. This new policy will greatly reduce the ability of the local police address arrest illegal immigrants.
Local law enforcement agents have identified more than 120,000 suspected illegal immigrants over the past two years.
And what is their justification…
John Morton, Assistant Secretary of ICE made this statement, "In a world of limited resources, our view is that we need to focus first and foremost on people committing crimes in our community who should not be here."
Got news for you Mr. Morton, crossing the boarder without going through proper channels IS A CRIME, they are breaking the law just by being in our country illegally. I just can’t understand why these people can’t seem to understand that. Basically, what they are saying to these local police agencies is you don’t have to worry about that law… it’s ok if they break that one.
It’s pretty clear that this Obama administration’s first step in the Amnesty plan. He’s gonna need those votes come 2012.
